The EDF Energy National Trophy
The EDF Energy National Trophy
comprises 102 Clubs who qualify as follows
In
the first round matches shall be drawn and played on an area basis between 44
nominated clubs from the North; Midlands; London/SE; and South West Divisions
together with the 28 clubs comprising National Leagues 3 North and 3 South. The
second round will be drawn on an area basis between the 36 winners from Round 1.
The third round drawn on a national basis between the 18 winners from the second
round together with the 14 Clubs comprising National League 2 at the
commencement of the 2007/08 season.
The
fourth round will between the 16 winners from the third round together with the
16 Clubs comprising National League 1.
Subsequent rounds will be between the
winners from the previous round.
The final will
be played at Twickenham on the weekend of 12th/13th April 2008
Guinness Premiership clubs have elected not to play in the competition due to
the demands of their league programme, the Heineken Cup and the Anglo-Welsh
tournament.
